I hear so often people say “I really wish I could cook, but I don’t know how” or “It’s just so hard!” or “what the hell does that even MEAN?!” I’ve found that many people are completely capable; it’s simply that cooking and its methods are so shrouded in mystery that many are afraid to even try.  In essence– learning to cook feels unattainable.

In this class, I want to take that stigma, coat it in butter, and fry it into a delicious fritter of affirmation and budding confidence.

Cooking is a balance of two things: science and craft.  The science is easy to learn, and we will learn it. This course will also cover craft and what it means to “cook by touch.”

This course will cover the basic fundamentals and foundations for cooking that will change the way you look at the kitchen. This class will be a 4 part, once per month series with (optional) homework (that you get to eat). This class does build on previous material covered, so attendance for all classes is recommended, but not required.
