Scott Swank from Vegas.com will demonstrate how to use the Actor model of concurrency using the ‘jetlang’ message-based library for Java.

As the number of cores in CPUs continues to rise developers will be pushed to use as many cores as possible. Yet concurrent programming is one of the toughest challenges for developers today, and has been for years. Among the industry’s answers to date have been Erlang, Scala and Google’s Go language, but for the working programmer today Java installations far outnumber all of the above.

Messaging and the Actor model form an alternative to using threads. Come see how it can be done today in Java!
